Have you ever had a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) in Windows XP and your computer automatically reboots? When you call someone for help, the first thing they want to know is what the BSOD said. This is a setting in the Operating System that makes the computer automatically reboot on failure. This quick tutorial will show you how to turn that setting off, so that if your computer were to ever crash, you will be able to get the details of it. </o>

</o>"Showing_windows_XP_Blue_Screens_01.JPG"

To start, right click on you’re my Computer Icon on your desktop. If you don’t have a My Computer icon, you can do it through the start menu by right-clicking on My Computer in there. Once you right click, you will get the above menu. You want to select properties.</o>

</o>"Showing_windows_XP_Blue_Screens_02"

Once you do that, the above window will appear. This is the main area to configure a lot of settings for your computer. For now, we want to click on the Advanced tab.</o>

</o>"Showing_windows_XP_Blue_Screens_03"

This is the Advanced tab. As you can see, we have a few different areas that we can configure here. The one we want to go into for the settings that we want to configure is under the “Startup and Recovery” section. Click the Settings button in the area.

All we want to pay attention to for this tutorial is the “System Failure” section. Under this section you should be able to see a Check Box that says “Automatically Restart”. Un-check that box and click on OK. Close out the properties Window as well. You should now be able to read your BSODs when you get them. Thank-you for viewing this tutorial. Hope it helps you .</o>
